The strongest magnet material is neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnets.
Known for its extremely high magnetic energy product and magnetic energy density, NdFeB magnet is by far the strongest permanent magnetic material in commercial applications. It is capable of picking up heavy objects equal to hundreds of times its own weight, making it extremely attractive.
NdFeB magnet is a tetragonal crystal system composed of rare earth elements such as neodymium, iron and boron. Through the precise manufacturing process, the internal microscopic magnetic domains are arranged in a highly ordered manner, thus maximizing the magnetic force.
NdFeB magnets are widely used in many fields due to their excellent magnetic properties, such as electric motors, wind power generation, computer hard disk drives, medical equipment, aerospace and automotive manufacturing. In the field of electric motors, NdFeB magnets can significantly improve the efficiency and power density of electric motors, and reduce the volume and weight; in computer hard disk drives, it is used as an important part of the read-write head, which ensures high-speed reading, writing and storage of data.
Although NdFeB magnet has excellent magnetic properties, it also has some disadvantages. For example, it is sensitive to temperature, the magnetic force will be weakened or even disappear under high temperature; at the same time, it is easy to be corroded, so it is necessary to take appropriate protective measures in the process of use.
